WALKABOUTSVERSE 82 OF 230

Poem 82 of 230:  ON ACTS 4:32-35

Believers were all one in heart and mind -
    They shared their excesses with those behind;
No-one claimed any possessions one’s own -
    Yes, it was socialism on the throne.

So not long were there desperate folk -
    Fair distribution was the tongue they spoke;
And wealthy owners would transfer their deed -
    Funds, via apostles, to those in need.

Yet today, all round our troubled Earth,
    Some Christians, comfy at their own snug hearth,
Vote for their electorate’s Right-Wing party -
    That’s hypocritical, it seems to me.
